Rockport is a shoe brand founded in 1971 and prides itself in creating shoes for ‘movers’, comfortable enough to take you from day to night and tackle the commute without a pair of trainers at the ready. Rockport introduced a unique shoe technology long before its competitors, offering a unique combination of controlled flexibility and stability providing instant comfort, allowing you to move without limits.
We needed to convey this message across social media and set out to capture ‘shoes for the city’ in our imagery.
We wanted to do something different for the brand and move away from repurposing global content for the UK account and really look to tailor it for the UK market. We also wanted to inject some new content into the mix alongside influencer imagery and encourage engagement so, with a strong new AW17 collection, we decided to head to Manchester city centre to capture ‘city living’ and reiterate the ‘Made for Movers’ concept.
We believe that original content is one of the most powerful forms of brand engagement creating meaningful and lasting connections with your audience. We wanted to create imagery that would inspire Rockport’s social audience and really stand out from competitors. Of course, the content also needed to be in keeping with the Rockport brand values and other marketing collateral.
The imagery proved popular across social and Rockport stateside also began to use our new content where appropriate for their market, spreading it across Instagram Facebook and Twitter.
It was also used across press material and was received well by media outlets including Grazia, The Times and Shortlist, sparking interest in the key AW17 pieces.
